We know we (parents/ grandparents/ church) must teach the "whats" - what the Bible says and therefore what we believe, but just as important as it is to do this, it is equally as important to teach the "whys" - why we are able to believe God is real, the Bible is true, God and science DO go together, and God is good. If we do not teach the "whys" we run the very real risk the young people we love will turn away from their faith - as Barna's studies show this is actually happening.
It is essential for us to start teaching the "whys" with our young children - about four years old. When we teach them the "whys" as they grow up, they will become young people who have a confident faith! One easy - and fun way to do this is with the Life on the Goldilocks Planet book series! Each book has at least 12 animals in it - many of which you may never have heard of before, with full-color photos, fun facts, quotes from scientists, Bible verses and activities the entire family will enjoy! Get them for the children you love for a fantastic way to connect and encourage learning all winter long! (And, the answer to the question in the photo is the Giant Anteater - they are even able to smell different types of ants!)
